Decorating a cob home is always one of the most satisfying parts of the project. But with cob, and other natural building materials, we don’t use standard paints and plasters.
With earthen buildings we must use “vapor permeable” finishes. This basically means that water vapor can pass through the material. These types of finishes include: earthen plasters, lime plasters, and a variety of natural paints.
You can create any color that you want using these natural materials. Pigments come in a very wide variety!
