A lot of people have a fear about mold growing on cob walls. There is a misconception going around that cob attracts mold. This is actually not the case. We also need to step back and make a comparison between a cob wall and a conventional wall in a regular house.

Modern home construction builds walls consisting of stick framing, water vapor barriers, and drywall. All materials that attract and cause molding to occur.

So in reality, even if cob can have mold, the chances of a cob wall molding is much less than that of a conventionally built wall.
